Tammy Kaiser
I’ve been with Bridgetown Midwest for three years now, though it feels longer in the best way. I started in billing, filled in for dispatch whenever someone was out, and eventually stepped into the role full-time. It wasn’t a leap. I’d already been listening, learning, getting pulled into the rhythm of the work. And I’d worked with Mike before at another trucking company, so the trust was already there. He’s my boss, but he’s also my friend. I can tell him anything.
My job is simple on paper: keep the drivers going. In real life, it’s fifteen people, fifteen personalities, and a whole lot of moving parts. Emails, calls, loads shifting midday, terminals rerouting things, a driver calling from the road because something changed. Little fires. Quick fixes. But I like it. I respect what our drivers do out there, and if you treat people with respect, they’ll give it back to you. That’s my philosophy. Always has been.
Every morning, I greet every driver who walks through the door. A real “good morning,” not the rushed version. It matters. It sets the tone. This place is family-oriented, and I try to carry that forward.
Outside of work, I’m Grandma to thirteen grandkids—yes, thirteen—and I collect ducks. Rubber ducks, plush ducks, glow-in-the-dark ducks. Whole shelves full of them. And when I’m home, I love getting together with my sister, my daughters, and the granddaughters for crafting nights. Seasonal projects, Dollar Tree finds, whatever sounds fun. It’s chaos in the best way.
At the end of the day, my job is about people. Respect. Kindness. Starting the day right and keeping things moving. That’s what I enjoy and what I’m here to do.
