I’ve been with Bridgetown St. Louis since 2012. When I started, it was just me doing whatever needed to get done—driving, billing, warehouse work, dispatching, all of it. Over time we built a team, but I still jump in when it helps. If a short run needs to happen and I don’t want to tie up a driver, I’ll take the truck myself.
I’ve been in trucking for more than 40 years. I learned on manuals—nine speeds, thirteen speeds—and I’ll admit I hated automatics when they first showed up. But they save fuel, protect the equipment, and keep drivers focused on the road, so I came around. At the end of the day, whatever works best is what matters.
My style here is simple: no yelling, no drama, open door. People deserve respect, and if something needs fixing, we fix it. I’m firm when I need to be, but I don’t believe in talking down to anyone. Drivers come to me because they know I’ll listen and give it to them straight.
I grew up without much. My family hunted and fished because that’s how we ate. It taught me to work hard, take care of my responsibilities, and not wait for someone else to clean up my mess. I still live that way. Keep your shop clean, treat people right, and do the job the way you’d want it done for you.
These days I handle customs bonding, hiring, driver support, warehouse coordination, and whatever odd freight comes our way—flatbed work, special projects, the jobs that don’t fit neatly into a category. If we can do it safely and do it right, we’ll take a shot at it. If we can’t, I don’t pretend otherwise.
What makes St. Louis special is pretty simple: we’re centrally located, the cost of doing business is reasonable, and the people here care about the work. We’re not the cheapest, and I’m fine with that. What we offer is a service you can count on. That’s how I run this place, and that’s how our team shows up every day.
